Tim Ward Ill Fly Away Greco 2019
Wow. Powerful tannins the big feature here, succulent, drying, powdery and shapely, holding in all the dried mixed peel, mandarin juice, bergamot tea, strong gingery/cumin spiciness and the licks of saline minerality. It’s a heady perfume too, lots more dried mixed peel, clove spiked orange, sweet turned earth. An experience from hello, this is upper echelon orange wine from Australia and would sit well on any benchmarking table for the style. – Mike Bennie 94pts
Topper’s Hill Of Dreams 2021
Very spicy, gingery and dried apple fruit characters to sniff on. Chewy, spicy, sinewy texture too. The wine lays in some great skin ferment complexity while maintaining freshness, feels resolved and balanced despite the impact of tannin and frisky acidity. Lots to sink one’s teeth into, an ‘experience’ wine.. – Mike Bennie 92pts
